ACCESS STRATEGY
MAKING THE LINKS TO SUPPORT WALKING, CYCLING AND BUS USE
The priority is to provide a walkable community and promote cycling and bus use as an attractive alternative to the car.
Proximity to existing and proposed local facilities and employment – all within walking distance – is a significant benefit.
The Site can also link to the existing shared footway and cycleway on Dog Kennel Lane and Stratford Road. We are looking at options for enhancing these existing routes, for example through improved signage, re-surfacing and widening.
The main vehicle access into the Site would be via Stratford Road, with a secondary access for pedestrians, cyclists and buses on Dog Kennel Lane.
Transport assessment work is ongoing to understand the impact of new development in this area on local junctions, informed by traffic surveys. This will be subject to scrutiny by Solihull Council Highways once a planning application has been submitted.
